Chuck Rubin

Chuck Rubin was born on a farm in a very rural area of Sinai, Israel. Since childhood he's always lived with lots of animals - dogs, cats rchickens, horses, sheep etc. abbits,

In 1981 after the peace agreement with Egypt, Chuck's family had to give back all they'd worked to build, including their house that was destroyed. At that stressful time in his life, Chuck's parents got divorced.

At 13 Chuck went to an agricultural boarding school where his duties included milking cows and taking care of horses. In 1989 he joined the Israeli army and become a commander for 3 years. He immigrated to the US in 1992 after his Mother, and began grooming school in 1994.

Chuck's love for animals runs in the family - his brother is a successful veterinarian in a Central Coast clinic. After years living with, learning about and grooming animals, Chuck's mission is to make sure that every pet will get the best care and gentle touch from Hollywood Grooming.

Yael Rubin

Yael Rubin was born in Israel and is the youngest daughter in her family. She has worked with animals since she was a girl. At 14 she began volunteering at dog shelters, and by 17 she was very involved helping save abused and abandoned animals with rescue groups.

Yael joined the Israeli army at 18 and served in a special rescue unit which trained dogs to find missing persons. After about a year of service as a dog handler she was transferred to train dogs to find explosive devices.

After a rewarding 2 years of service in the army, Yael began working in the zoological garden at the University of Tel Aviv where she took care of 6 long-tail Macaque monkeys. A year later Yael set out to travel across the US, but her plans changed when she found a great job in Los Angeles as a grooming assistant with Chuck.

Chuck began teaching Yael to be a professional groomer. She worked for 5 years with a mobile grooming company where she learned and specialized in the trade. Yael now co-owns Hollywood Grooming with Chuck and loves what she does with a passion.
